This week, we conducted a thorough research about emotional regulation, which included a meeting with Dr. Daphna Kopelman. Talking with her helped us gain a better focus on our subject. We have decided to focus on an audience of mostly high-school students (ages 15-18), with the purpose of helping them learn how to better regulate and control their emotions in an efficient, accessible way.

Talking with Dr. Kopelman helped us better understand the many aspects of emotional regulation, and we even scheduled future meetings with other experts on the subject: Dr. Guy Doron, Dr. Nava Levit-Binnun and Dr. Noa Albelda.

We have found that emotional regulation, put simply, is the ability to balance one’s emotions and their intensity according to any given situation, and gaining control over behavior born of those emotions.

In addition to our meeting with Dr. Kopelman, we each found additional articles and other reading material which focused on emotional regulation among adolescents, and we conducted additional interviews with teenagers in relevant ages. Dr. Kopelman even gave us some recommended reading material on the subject. We also made further research into existing technologies and solutions in the field of emotional regulation and added them to our graph.

After receiving feedback on our presentation last Wednesday, we modified our persona and updated our slides so they can better help us in the future.
